OK, no one should ever eat a hot dog with a knife and fork. Ever. But, if there was ever a dog that would make you even remotely consider cutlery, it’s the Turkish Dog Blues. The menu says it is “topped” with donair sauce, tomatoes and coconut bacon. Talk about understatement. It’s actually hard to see the bun under the mounds of condiment goodness. The Turkish is one of a series of new dogs introduced by Arcadia, which changed its once-vegan menu to include meat options over the summer. The Turkish Dog Blues offers the best of both worlds, with the coconut bacon adding some crunch and extra smokiness to the smokie (somewhere) underneath. But it is gonna be messy. Hey, you can’t use a fork and knife to eat a hot dog, but you can ask for extra napkins.
