Lunch Break: Birch & Bear Pizza

There’s a new pizza spot on Jasper Avenue. Birch & Bear Pizza, a new concept by Toast Culture, debuted in March in the same space as Toast and boasts a menu of west coast inspired pizzas. The birch pizza menu has a selection of vegetarian and vegan pizzas while the bear pizza menu features meat toppings.

The Parmesan & Herb Flatbread is a great option for a light dinner. The thin, crunchy bread comes topped with garlic aioli, parmesan, asiago and Italian herbs. It comes with both basil aioli and San Marzano tomato dipping sauce. The basil aioli adds to the fresh flavours while the tomato dipping sauce adds sweetness.

For $19, the flatbread is the perfect size for sharing, or is enough to give you leftovers for a few days. Stay and eat on the quaint patio or take it to go for a picturesque picnic overlooking the river valley, which is just a block south from the eatery.

Birch & Bear Pizza also offers a handful of appetizers. The Fusilli and Pesto Pasta Salad is a refreshing side dish and has broccolini, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, arugula and basil pesto.
