There’s never a bad time for ice cream, but a hot, sunny summer day might just be one of the best. Thankfully, Edmonton has no shortage of creative and delicious ice cream treats available at local businesses. Here’s a look at some of the new and notable ice cream treats to try this summer.
Bestie Ice Cream
What’s new: Location
This summer, grab your bestie and head to Bestie, a new seasonal ice cream destination tucked inside an eye-catching, white shipping container topped with solar panels in Crestwood. Coming from the same group behind the ever-popular Kind Ice Cream, Bestie scoops up Kind’s beloved flavours like birthday cake, chocolate honeycomb, maple whisky pecan, salted caramel and more. It’s a new way to experience a local ice cream favourite.

Delavoye Chocolate Maker
What’s new: Ice Cream Bars
One of Edmonton’s most popular chocolate makers has started making ice cream bars? Say less. Until early fall, you can order the shop’s new coffee or dark chocolate ice cream bars at its storefront along 124th Street. The dark chocolate ice cream bar has a dark chocolate shell with some cacao nibs on top, while the coffee ice cream bar’s base is infused with coffee and dipped in the shop’s café au lait chocolate.

Mokha Coffee House
What’s notable: Baklava with Ice Cream
The only thing better than a flaky, sweet piece of baklava is a flaky, sweet piece of baklava with ice cream. Thankfully, you can get exactly that at this popular Yemeni café in Griesbach, which is always buzzing with chit chat and energy. Pair a pot of Adani tea with this nutty, ice cream-filled dessert on Mokha’s huge covered patio to beat the heat this summer.
