Situated in the heart of the new Stadium Yards, Felice Cafe is all for supporting local. You’ll notice as soon as you walk in that many items in the display case are sourced from local businesses like Bagel Bar, Caramunchies and Bakenary.
I walked into Felice on the hunt for a light dinner, and had the option of a grilled cheese, burrito or tacos. The grilled cheese, with ingredients from Benny’s Bread and Butter, called my name; it had fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella with basil on sourdough bread. The combination tasted like a pizza in sandwich form, which is as tasty as it sounds.
Choosing dessert was tough with the selection of cake, macarons, cookies and eclairs. Ultimately, my friend and I decided on slices of Snickers cake and raspberry cake. The Snickers cake is chocolatey and sweet, and the nuts add a crunch that complements the mousse texture of the rest of the cake. In contrast, the raspberry cake is fruity and light.
If you’d rather have your dessert in drink form, try the Seriously Affogato. The drink consists of espresso poured over a scoop of coconut and vanilla ice cream. The result is a sweet, refreshing drink.
Tucked away next to the counter is a market featuring goods from local artisans like Carly Gordan Art and Wildfire Jewelry. Shop while you wait for your order, or grab one of the many tables inside or on the patio., Felice Cafe is bringing in new vendors and food options, so there should be something new to see and try.
