Calle Mexico restaurant’s food truck serves classic Mexican comfort food at various locations around the city, and is available for private event booking. The locations and daily updates are posted on the restaurant’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
The food truck doesn’t just serve the traditional Spanish churros — it also offers Empanadas de Queso, Patatas Alioli, El Chacadero beef sandwiches and Rellenos. You can usually find it at Garneau Park, between 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Updates and any changes to hours are posted daily on its Facebook page.
The Colombian Coffee Bar & Roastery has recently launched a pop-up coffee truck, The Coffee Mule. You can find the truck on the weekends in locations that are announced on its Instagram page. It serves a selection of over a dozen drinks, including hot and cold specialty coffees, hot chocolate and chai latte. The truck can be usually spotted at Grant Notley Park, at the top of Victoria Park parkway, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., from Thursday to Sunday.
Run by A Cappella Catering, the truck serves meals like Austin Brisket, Grilled Brieze and Curbside Chicken. It can be most frequently seen at 124 Grand Market and participating in Food Truck Drive Throughs. It’s also available for private and corporate functions. This Edmonton restaurant serves gourmet hot dogs, along with draft and international beers, and has a variety of dine-in locations across the city. You can also find the Fat Franks food trucks at various markets and spots throughout the week, including Old Strathcona Farmers Market on Saturdays, Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays, and Beverly Farmers Market on Tuesdays, as well as at Churchill Square and on Rice Howard Walkway between Monday and Friday. There’s no wrong time for ice cream. The colourful truck by Scoop n Roll Creamery offers soft-serve ice cream and parfait in a wide variety of flavours, all week long. The pink and blue truck can be found at the Kingsway Mall‘s parking lot, between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The Smokehouse BBQ currently has two food trucks and serves meals with BBQ that’s made fresh daily, as well as takes part in Food Truck Drive Throughs. Opened this spring, the food truck is based in Sherwood Park and offers gourmet burgers, fries and onion rings. It most frequently appears at various locations in Sherwood Park, and sometimes in downtown Edmonton. Check its Instagram page for weekly updates on times and locations.
Get a fix for your taco cravings on your next walk in the river valley. The latest addition to Edmonton’s food truck scene, Street Tacos will be popping up at the Edmonton Royal Glenora Club parking lot in the river valley, all summer long. It’s open every day, except Monday. Street Tacos uses authentic recipes brought straight from Mexico. You can choose between chicken, pork, beef and vegan tacos.
