Sorrentino’s
Look for a full turkey dinner that serves six to eight. It will require reheating, but that should be a breeze. Not only do you get turkey with all the trimmings, but some Italian twists on the side dishes, like cannelloni stuffed with ricotta and spinach, or parmigiana mashed potatoes. Of course, tiramisu for dessert. Order by October 8.
A Cappella Catering
Thanksgiving Take & Bake Dinner serves four to six holiday diners. Turkey comes with whipped potatoes, roasted seasonal vegetables and stuffing. As well, if you’ve got the turkey figured out, but need help with the sides — or need vegetarian options — there’s an option to order “everything but the bird.” Order deadline is Oct. 4.
Refinery Grill
his west-end restaurant offers turkey, prime rib, honey glazed ham or souvlaki dinners. Heck, souvlaki for Thanksgiving? We’re in. Also: Pork loin, salmon or chicken feasts are available. Dinners come with starches, pastas, salads, veggies, dinner buns and dessert. There’s a lot of food here.
Sawmill
The Harvest Thanksgiving Feast has cheddar-herb biscuits, spinach salad, carrot bisque, free-range turkey or honey-glazed ham and, yes, perogies. You need perogies at Thanksgiving. Sure, there’s garlic mashed potatoes, candied yams and caramel cheesecake, but they had us at perogies. Order deadline is Oct. 8.
Fairmont Hotel Macdonald
Beginning October 4, you can order turkey-to-go or prime-rib-to-go feasts that serve eight to 10 people. Looks for butternut squash soup with roasted pumpkin seeds, buttermilk mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, sourdough bread, plus pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton
The hotel is offering a take-home Thanksgiving dinner, for pickup Oct. 13. It will feature dinner rolls, savoury potato salad, smoky peach coleslaw, brussels sprouts with bacon, mashed potatoes, smoked beans — and, of course — the turkey. The bird will be smoked in applewood. Note the Sunday pickup! Order deadline is Oct. 10.
Eagles Nest Catering
This south-side full-service caterer is offering Thanksgiving feasts to go. Deadline for orders is Oct. 5, for an Oct. 12 pickup (that’s Saturday, folks). You can pick and choose your sides and desserts, from pumpkin pie to perogies to potatoes. You can also order a single-meal option, which is handy for a dinner for a single or a couple. I mean, who needs annoying Uncle Frank talking about chemtrails during dinner?
