Kristianna Squirechuk perfects her pastry magic in her dream kitchen: Wild Rose Cakes. “Back when I started this boutique cake side-hustle in 2015, it seemed unreal to own a storefront of my own,” recalls Squirechuk. “I’ve always loved the storytelling potential with my cakes. Everyone loves things that are sugary and nice, and we all deserve to have a custom-designed pastry just about us.”
Squirechuk remembers the first few wedding cakes she made at Wild Rose. Those three-tiered beauties weren’t the easiest to make, especially when she wanted each cake to best reflect each love story behind it.
“I love love, and I’m absolutely obsessed with the wedding season,” says the cake artist. “I really don’t mind spending the morning tying ribbons and getting sprinkles everywhere. That’s how you want to celebrate the most beautiful thing in the world.”
