Many Edmontonians head to Greenland Garden Centre in Sherwood Park for their plants every year, but, if you haven’t yet stopped by Branches, the in-house restaurant, trust us – you’re missing out.
Branches has a small menu of seasonally changing dishes, including wood-fired pizzas. And, while the atmosphere at dinner is definitely cozy, with the restaurant often bringing in musicians to perform or offering specials such as its date-night deal, brunch is where Branches truly shines.
It makes sense – with the large windows and views of rows and rows of lush greenery and plants, and gorgeous patio, there’s no spot more idyllic. The brunch menu is small, but offers something for everyone. If you’ve always dreamed of eating pizza for breakfast, try the breakfast flatbread – a wood-fired crust is topped with scrambled eggs, hollandaise, roasted potatoes, leeks, capicola ham, mozzarella, tomatoes and jack cheese. If you have more of a sweet tooth, go for the warm fruit churro shells – cinnamon tortillas filled with warm fruit compote, topped with mascarpone and sprinkled with delicious house-made granola. And, of course, what brunch is complete without coffee? Lattes come in huge mugs and give you the opportunity to linger over good conversation with your dining partners.
