This year, we took a category away from our judges, and handed it over to you, our readers. We asked where you find the best dessert in town. Here’s what you told us.
Leduc Coffee Shop
Orange Roll
Homemade dough — hand-stretched fresh every morning. If you know, you know: machines don’t cut it. These buns are topped with a warm, gooey mix of luscious orange zest and coconut that tastes like holidays at grandma’s. — Chantal Richert

Duchess Bake Shop
Duchess Cake (Princess Cake)
They don’t have it often, but when they do, stop the presses. The cake layers with marzipan and the colours — I just love it. Perfect layers of cream and cake. It makes you feel like royalty. — Liam Harrap
(Liam adds that his partner, when moving from Vancouver to Edmonton, “chose a neighbourhood near the Duchess on purpose, because he loved it so much.”)

Luna Cocina Mexicana
Tres Leches
A Mexican classic, which is difficult to execute perfectly, however Luna does it. It’s rich and delicious, but not too heavy. This is a perfect way to finish off a delicious Mexican feast. — Lynsee Leahy

Tea Bar Cafe
Bubble Waffle
There are not many hole-in-the-wall places to get Hong Kong-style bubble waffles in Edmonton — and you generally cannot find them in many spots in the city. Tea Bar Cafe makes very tasty ones and they are quite affordable as well, especially when paired with a Hong Kong-style milk tea. — Harrison Sheremeta
