Twenty years ago, Colleen Heidecker was busy training dolphins and researching animal behavour around the world. Fascinated by trail runs in the desert near Las Vegas, she started learning about superfood for athletes. The next thing she knew, the former zoologist was on her way becoming a dessert chef.
“I wanted to diversify and create snacks and desserts for everybody,” says Heidecker. “Chocolate has a way of bringing people closer together and fostering connection.”
For Heidecker, chocolate means more than its luxurious sweet taste.
‘“At Colleen’s Chocolates, we believe that chocolate is not just a treat, but a powerful tool for healing and self-care,” shares Heidecker.
Determined to “help people heal from a bad day”, Heidecker makes chocolate bars and barks in comforting flavours with caramel, peanut butter and cookies. You’d also find seasonal flavours like Maple Magic, Ginger Honey and Chokecherry Truffle for special occasions.
If you wonder what’s better than enjoying a chocolate bar on your own, Heidecker’s answer would be booking a tasting event with your friends. At Colleen’s Chocolates, there are live events where you could learn the art of chocolate making, chocolate tasting and fun recipes.
