Coming from a food-loving family, Alysia Lok may not be the best chef, but definitely is a “snack master.” And when she first discovered the delicious combination of caramel and Corn Flakes, Lok knew it was time to perfect her ultimate comfort snack recipe: the Caramunchies.
With its sweet and salty taste, these crispy caramel flakes can serve as toppings for many desserts: ice cream, yogourt, pudding… you name it. Or, as Lok suggests, just grab a package and finish it on your way home.
“Food is my love language,” says Lok. “I’d always choose something edible as gifts for my loved ones. And it’s best when you can finish a package in one sitting.”
Six years into expanding the menu of Caramunchies, Lok sometimes wondered what other flavours she’d enjoy other than the popular Salted Caramel and Chocolate Drizzles. After joking about having a hot nacho flavour for the April Fool’s, Lok gave this idea a second thought: What if it actually tastes good?
“Caramunchitos. It’s an actual flavour we have now,” says Lok. “It’s Nacho Cheese and Flaming Hot Doritos with caramel. Sweet and spicy!”
You may have missed it when Caramunchies teamed up with Pablo for the Caramunchies Cheesecake Sundae this summer, but now it’s time to upgrade your hot drink with those caramel delights. Caramunchies releases seasonal flavours every four months, with the current season featuring London Fog Latte and Chai Latte.
