Jo-Ann Saddleback and her family celebrate every occasion at Rigoletto’s, and she claims her daughters have practically grown up there. The bronzed ribeye steak that “is like butter” remains a staple in Saddleback’s list of favourites.
“One time that my husband and I were there, one of their chefs said, ‘I never see any First Nations people come in here,’” Saddleback says.
A server quickly corrected him, and introduced Saddleback and her husband as regulars.
“That chef came out and introduced himself, and he bought us our dinner that night!”
That kindness and generosity keeps Saddleback (and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren) coming back.
“It’s generational love.”
